What is a doula? A doula is professional labor support for a pregnant woman. Studies have shown shorter labors, less complications, and less interventions.
Dr. Johannson has had very positive interactions with doulas and seen many women have the birth experience they sought due to their support. He commonly encourages the use of doulas, especially for first-time mothers and those seeking low-intervention births.
