Our practice supports breastfeeding as an extension of caring for the health of mother and baby during pregnancy. We have a physician and certified lactation consultant who work as a team to solve problems faced by mothers and babies when nursing. We provide help both for the patients seen by us during pregnancy and those that are cared for by others.
Breastfeeding Class
Increase your success with practical breastfeeding preparation. A class for expecting mothers and partners is taught by an expert physician and lactation consultant. Class taught monthly. Sign up early at 256-241-0885.
Breastfeeding Consultations
We encourage early breastfeeding support. We recommend beginning care with a lactation consultant within a week of delivery to ensure mother and baby get a head start to a successful breastfeeding journey. There are local lactation consultants that will come to your home to help you be comfortable in your own surroundings while being successful in your breastfeeding journey.
Central Alabama Lactation Consultants also offer a prenatal visit prior to baby being born to give you a one on one consultation, tips, and tricks. This helps a seamless transition as soon as the baby(s) are born. By doing a prenatal visit prior to the delivery you will already be enrolled, and they can come as soon as you need them with no delay!
